Okay, we know that this article will not have juicy tidbits and humorous real-life embarrassments but this is a passion of ours! We have done a few posts in the past regarding #savingourplanet but if we don’t embrace this, how will our children and their children?? YES! WE hear you when the rallying cry is LET’S DO THIS! only to be followed up with the pessimists who counter back IT’S TOO LATE! Maybe it is. Maybe it isn’t (too late), but we should, would, and could be ALL in IF we knew that it would save our planet, right? So isn’t that worth giving it the ole’ college effort, do you not agree? Also, at least this post will be about FASHION so that is sort of fun!
Here are FIVE ethical shoe brands that deliver FASHION without the guilt!
But first, a little background; each year, the global leather industry uses products from over a BILLION, LET US REITERATE THIS, MORE THAN 1,000,000,000 animals to produce fashion goods. The production of leather goods also frequently involves the use of cheap labor, CHILD LABOR IN SOME COUNTRIES, increased waste, and a higher carbon footprint.
But it doesn’t have to be this way. We can all do better. We have to, as is often said, “there is no PLANet B.”
These five shoe brands are either/or exclusively cruelty-free, vegan, and are ethically made options. These brands are leading the future of sustainable fashion while minimizing their environmental impact, creating fair wage jobs, and producing affordable, fashionable, and comfortable ethically made shoes for any occasion, man or woman.
Ethical, durable, and sustainable. Win, win, & win!

The company’s approach is threefold: measure, reduce, and offset. It’s transparent about its practices and carbon footprint, which means accountability.
The Allbirds sneaker is already more sustainable than your average sneaker, but we admire the effort to get to ZERO carbon emissions.
But don’t let us convince you, meander on over to Allbirds to read about their commitment to sustainability, and to check out their amazing shoe line.

Nisolo recognizes that everything they make has an impact on the planet. They also believe the fashion industry can regenerate rather than deplete the environment by measuring their impact and investing in proven methods to counteract it. Their commitment to reduce and offset 100% of their carbon emissions as a brand and they believe all brands should aim to become 0% net carbon neutral. Gotta love it!
FYI: We LOVE Nisolos’ simple, yet elegant design! This shoe line is one of our favorites!
Price Range: $70-120
We think we love these because of our love affair with this style of shoe! Based out of Germany with sites in Pakistan, India, and Sri Lanka, Ethletic is committed to ensuring all workers have fair and safe working conditions while producing comfortable vegan shoes. Toms was the OG one-for-one company, giving a pair of shoes away for each one purchased. Since it began 13 years ago, it’s donated nearly 100 million pairs of shoes. Toms is also a B Corporation, so it has high sourcing and production standards. The signature, comfortable Toms shoes are made with sustainable cotton and ship in recyclable packaging. Plus, Toms is working to improve both its materials and packaging in the next few years to use 100% sustainable cotton and 80% recycled materials.
We LOVE these shoes and their simple style that fits any casual errand-day outfit!
5028 is a small-batch artisan shoe company focused on the art of crafting shoes through ethical practices and upcycled materials. Their limited edition shoes are crafted with deadstock materials making their shoes extra special due to only producing up to 250 pairs of a particular style/color. 5028 furthers their social impact by donating $5 from each pair sold to mental health support groups.
This warms our hearts as mental health hits close to home in our family. This is also an often-overlooked health concern so it is impactful to see 5028’s commitment to this cause!
5028 donates $5 from each pair of shoes sold to mental health support. Angilina and her co-founder husband Mike chose to donate to this cause in honor of her brother who is struggling with schizophrenia.
