It’s been a while since I have felt the creative bug but man, am I feeling it right now! Hillside House, The Land(ing) (dubbed via Alaina, Maegen’s daughter), or more recently, Chad & Maegen’s House, is ALMOST done. It seems like years since we started this “little project”, oh wait, it has been years, TWO in fact!
For inspiration, I look everywhere for decor ideas: Pinterest, Insta, magazines, and other people’s homes as I walk the dogs around the block (right now my neighbors are pulling their shades). However, there are few places in this world that make me feel as happy as I am in Target, especially in the home decor aisles. In fact, I usually tell the family that “ugh, I HAVE to go and grab a few things for the house at Target, be back in a while” as I drag myself out the door and to the car. However, once out of sight, I hit the accelerator and I am off, as I imagine all the inspiration waiting for me at Target, thanks to Threshold, Opalhouse, Hearth & Hand, and Project 62. You can find everything you could ever need; throw pillows, on-trend furniture, and kitchen accessories, oh my! Of course, there are those small accent pieces you didn’t even know you needed until you saw them.
No matter what your interior design style may be, you can find something at Target that you are guaranteed to love. Looking for Mid-Century Modern? Project 62. How about a textured rug to fulfill your boho girl dreams? Opalhouse. Warm and Classic is more your style? Then Threshold with Studio McGee is your jam! How about City Farmhouse and all its rustic luster? Enter stage left, Joanna Gaines and Magnolia’s Hearth& Hand. The best part, Target quite literally has quantified the Edsel & Iris, Inc. sister’s shopping needs in ONE store! Read on to know what style each E&I, Inc. sister’s style is.
⬅This style SCREAMS, Dawn!
Threshold (and Threshold’s collection designed with Studio McGee) is perfect for those who love the English Farmhouse style, are grounded by classic and timeless pieces, and are lusting after that countryside cottage vibe. This line is full of neutrals and muted tones, faux greenery, and furniture that will never go out of style.
If you head over to her Instagram handle, @dawnmoonhome you will see the quintessential example of Studio McGee in REAL LIFE decor.
All my friends follow her and rave about her decorating 🙄 ⬇
⬅If Opalhouse could conceive a human vessel to bring their style to homes all across America, it would be via Roxy.
Opalhouse is the perfect blend of bohemian and eclectic style, done beautifully. Warm colors and dark jewel tones like emerald green and deep blues are the backbones of this decor line. If you’re looking for anything rattan, wicker, or fluffy, girly throw pillows that you can only dream about, then Opalhouse is for you.
Roxy’s home is all sorts of comfy, furry, cozy, frilly pom-pommy comfort! ⬇
⬅Project 62 is simple, minimal with a definite nod to Mid-Century Modern furniture that looks far more expensive than it actually is. This collection features sleek, clean lines and neutral colors that fit in any room. This line also offers options when combining pieces and textures, like rattan, wood, and metal tones for a variety of minimalistic finishes.
